Lighten Your Hair Using Chamomile Tea And Lemon Juice

January 2, 2017

If you’re anything like me, coloring your hair can be a delicate (and sometimes disappointing) process. A little color can go a long way, and the risk of damaging your locks with at-home treatments or dyes is often much greater than the payoff.

Lightening your hair can be a tricky process, and the chemicals used even inupscalesalons can have some less-than-ideal effects on your hair (particularly when the color change is drastic, like with auburnto blonde).

We recently shared with you a Coca-Cola hair hack, and here’s yet another tutorial from natural beauty vloggerEla Gale for lightening your hair naturally without any chemicals or yucky stuff (though keep in mind this will bring out your natural highlights subtly, so it’s likely to have more of an effecton lighter hair shades).

Here’s what you’ll need for your highlighting hair hack:

  • 23 Tbsp.boiling water
  • 1 teabag of chamomile tea
  • 1 Tbsp.honey
  • 1 Tbsp.lemon

“It can be kept in the fridge for 1-2 weeks and I would recommend using it 2-3 times a week until you see the desired result (i.e depending on how light you want to go),” Elawrites. She also adds that exposing your hair to sun will help bring out the highlights, so bear that in mind.
